Tom Scarangello

Tom leads the strategic direction and oversight of Thornton Tomasetti. Since 2008, when he became chairman, he has overseen the development of the firm’s strategic plan for growth and innovation in areas such as building information modeling, automation and integrated project delivery. With the 2015 merger with Weidlinger Associates, Tom expanded the firm’s portfolio to include security and protective design and applied sciences. Recently, he led the formation of TTWiiN, an innovation accelerator that commercializes technology spun off from Thornton Tomasetti incubators. Tom has more than 40 years of experience leading the structural engineering and analysis of a wide variety of building types worldwide, from long-span sports and entertainment arenas and stadiums to high-rise commercial and mixed-use buildings.
