We believe inspiring conversations thrive in unique environments which is why we’ve chosen the beautiful mountain city of Asheville, North Carolina to host Shadow Summit 2022. The awe-inspiring scenery, burgeoning culinary scene, diverse cultural arts, and breathtaking fall color season will make this year’s agenda unlike any traditional executive conference you’ve attended. Shadow Summit 2022 will focus on investment strategy, innovation, emerging technology, and sustainability for the Built Environment. Attendees are the most sophisticated c-suite technology experts, strategic investors, startup founders, and academic subject-matter experts focused on driving innovation. In-person attendance is curated and by invitation-only.
Shadow Summit is hosted by Shadow Ventures, a venture capital firm investing in startup companies innovating the built environment. The agenda will feature discussions that analyze strategic investment and technology adoption through the lens of executives from the most iconic design firms, GC’s, developers, building product manufacturers, and service providers.
A Sample of Planned Topics Include:
The planet is dying, and we are the reason why. If left unchecked, the current pace of nature’s decline will have grave implications for the human race. We stand to face increasing natural disasters, loss of biodiversity, and threats to public health. Waste is the largest contributing factor to this problem. And the built environment is one of the top producers of waste in the world—period. But it doesn’t have to be that way. If we work together for individual and systemic change, we can save the planet and ourselves. And make our companies wildly successful in the meantime.
And that’s what led us to start Shadow Summit 4 years ago; we wanted to bring together the leaders, technologies, and conversations driving innovation in the built environment. Investors, architects, engineers, contractors, building owners and operators, and startup founders—we’re looking at you. Over two days, we’ll bring in high-caliber speakers from around the world to arm you with the knowledge needed to plan the next 12 months of your business or career.
Last year was a huge success; we had 200 executive-level attendees (representing 6 countries), 26 sessions, and a keynote from Michael J. Coles, cofounder of the Great American Cookie Company and former CEO of Caribou Coffee. Companies in attendance included Thornton Tomasetti, JBB, Walter P Moore, HOK, Perkins and Will, Woods Bagot, CBRE, Cortland, Stanford University, Shibumi International, VINCI, and BE&K. This year, we’re introducing new programming including industry tracks and Summit roundtables. So don’t miss out!
